Life Time Performance By Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi and his performanceEmraan Hashmi is known for his kissing scenes in his films. But one cannot deny that he is a good actor too, if you checked many latest Emraan Hashmi Movies. One cannot have so many Hit films to his credit unless he is good in acting. Only Kissing scenes do not make a film successful. It’s the performance of actors and story of the film which attracts the audience and makes it a Hit at Box Office.

By far Hashmi has worked in many films after entering Bollywood in 2003 with Vikram Bhatt’s Footpath. Till now he has been at his best in Milan Luthria’s Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, as per my opinion. He has been nominated for many award s for this film like the Stardust Award for Best Actor in an Ensemble Cast, Filmfare Award, Zee Cine Award, IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor, Screen Award for Best Villain, etc.

For the film Hashmi received positive response from critics. Film’s star cast includes Ajay Devgan, Kangana Ranaut, Randeep Hooda and Prachi Desai.

The story of the film depicts the crime scenario in Mumbai during the 70s and 80s.It is believed to be based on real-life story of Haji Mastan and Dawood Ibrahim. Hashmi portrayed the role of Shoaib Khan being the character inspired by Dawood.

The film begins as story narrated by ACP Angel Wilson (Randeep Hooda) of the life stories of these two smugglers. Sultan Mirza (Ajay Devgan) enters underworld at a very small age and with the passage of time he becomes strong and powerful with his bravery and wisdom. Soon he becomes the Messiah of Mumbai by rescuing poor’s from difficult situations. He divides and allocates different zones of Mumbai to different smugglers keeping seashore for him.

On the other hand, Shoaib Khan (Hashmi) is a spoiled son of a police inspector and becomes a thief. On request of his father Sultan Mirza helps Shoaib in establishing an electronic shop. But due to his temperament and reputation he could not continue that and requests Mirza to let him join smuggling and Mirza agrees to this.

As the time passes Mirza’s reliance on Shoib increases till a time when Sultan goes out of city for executing his future plans and makes Shoaib his caretaker in his absence. From here starts the tension between the two. On his return Mirza finds that Shoaib has entered into unethical activities. He slaps him in public. On next day Mirza is killed by Shoaib and he becomes the new King of Mumbai.

Hashmi has very well played the role impressing the audience. The success of the film led the directors to make its sequel.

Music of the film was composed by Pritam and the lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, Neelesh Mishra and Amitabh Bhattacharya which is loved by people a lot.
